We just wanted to put it out there and THANK all of our loyal customers of past and present and especially those who have booked or rescheduled their lessons for the coming summer.
We are optimistic that we will be in full flow for our peak weeks in July and August and our fingers are crossed for a relaunch at Easter.
In the meantime, our efforts are being put into our facilities and branding so that when we do re-open – we’re back with a bang !
Watch this space….

We’ve said it so many times but keeping busy and keeping active is so beneficial for you.
Especially during lockdown. Do what you can to keep yourself motivated and busy.
When we’re not creating anything of any description- we’re not living !
Lots of love to everyone from the team x

As you will tell, if you have seen our last few social media posts, we have a professional photographer working with us again this summer.
He will be available to shoot the action so you can purchase your favourite photos of yourselves.
If you would like to join in on the fun in the crystal waters of Sennen Cove, give us a call and we will book you in for your surf lessons at Cornwall’s premier surf school.

Operating with a few changes; smaller groups, cleanliness improvements and all COVID-19 precautions carried out.
We’re stoked to be doing what we love again…

As the late afternoon sun does it’s worst on the Cove’s tarmac, everything is silent.
No business, no tourism, no road rage fuelled arguments on the notorious bend at the bottom of the hill which usually kick off at around this time…
All you’ll hear is the squawks of the sea gulls and the crashing of the empty waves below.
If you look up you’ll see the clearest of skies, I’ve not seen a single cloud all day.
Is this a result of only a limited amount of abuse of which we usually insist of inflicting in high doses to our planet on a daily basis ?
Never will you find such solace on Sennen’s cove and probably never in our lifetimes will we experience this disturbed solitude that is going on around the world right now.
For a minute, let’s stop moaning about the economy. We might not be earning much but then again we ain’t spending much.
Appreciate what we have, for when this blows over, perhaps we can pay more attention to our fellow earthlings, this wonderful planet and the joy it supplies us with.
Can’t wait to see you all back at Smart Surf School
Love from the team x

The atrocities of the these big storms can mean for surf lesson cancellations as they render the surf conditions unsuitable for beginner surfers (as well as experts).
This is because surfing beaches receive big waves and strong winds that can disorganise the bay and create rip currents that can pull surfers out to sea, or ‘max out’ the beach so the waves are too big to navigate through.
That being said, big storms can generate enough swell to wrap around coastal corners to fire up unusual novelty waves which only break ‘once every blue moon’
Over the last couple of weeks, the locals have enjoyed exploring the south west’s nooks and crannies for these little sheltered corners that help us keep the stoke alive.
We’re pretty lucky to be situated at Lands End where we get a choice of coasts to chose from, to maximise our surfing options throughout the whole year.
While the Newlyn fisherman batten down the hatches, our coach, Sam Smart hops around in the harbour.

Sennen Cove and Porth Curno must have the most bluest water in Europe, let alone Cornwall !
That extra drive South gives our customers that extra reward.
We really are blessed to be teaching this wonderful pastime in such a beautiful part of the world.
We’re really stoked on how 2019 went and as always, we are looking forward to more improvements for 2020 – Stay tuned ladies and gentlemen.
